Wish I lived here!

During a stay in the Playa area, we decided to make a quick trip to El Milagro for one night. Got there and just could not make ourselves leave so added a second night! Wish we would have been able to stay longer.

Peaceful, unique, comfortable, clean, friendly, safe, great location, welcoming! Love this place! Looking forward to a return visit! Even had a fabulous massage from Marta while there! Thanks El Milagro (Inga and Eric and Wendy) for taking good care of us!

Loved Our Stay

My husband and I had a wonderful 6 night stay. Great staff, relaxing atmosphere, refreshing pool. Nice having a convenience store on site to stock up on cervezas. Fun talking to the manager, owner and other guests. Menus for restaurants are available to preview in the office. Looking forward to our return visit.

The BEST place to stay on Isla Mujeres

My adult daughter and I spent an amazing week at El Milagro in January. We loved it. The location, the colorful common spaces, the charming small beach area-all perfect. The staff are friendly and everything is well maintained and spotless. We loved sitting on the dock with our morning coffee watching the boats and birds go by. It was so easy to get a cab, and so inexpensive. We headed off to North Beach every day, with a stop at the local market for fruit, and usually had lunch there as well. The weekly fish barbecue was delicious! Don't miss it. Eric and Inga were so helpful and fun to talk with. Big bonus for dog lovers- two cute resident doggies. We will definitely return.

Awesome place to stay!

We love coming every year! This is our sixth time coming during Christmas & New Year’s. The owner, Eric is a good guy. He has a great crew working for him! You also see a lot of the same guests year after year because it is such a nice place to stay. They have two parties celebrating the holidays that include guests and staff. Great food at these parties!

Fabulous stay at El Milagro

We loved El Milagro because it feels like a Mexican oasis. The property has been restored and created with such attention to detail but is so casual and easy going that exudes R&R. We stayed in the small studio so used the outside space more than others may have who had private balconies overlooking the bay. We loved having morning coffee on the dock, reading by the plunge pool and sitting at the wing watching the boats go by. It was nice to meet other guests and marina visitors.

The beach area is shallow and full of grass so you can't really swim right from the property but you can use the free kayaks/paddle boards and swim from there or use one of the bikes and head to the beach just ten minutes away. This is not for everyone and if you want true beachfront or to be right in town, this may not be for you. For us, the one mile from town was perfect and it is right next to Soggy Peso and many other great establishments. Well done Eric, Inga and team - we will be back!

Perfect, relaxing digs for a carribean getaway!

My two 20-something kids and I stayed here for a long-awaited vacation in a 2bed/2bath casita and found El Milagro to be a little gem. Lovely grounds and friendly service. Paddleboards, kayaks, and bikes were at our disposal, and having the marina right outside our door added a romantic touch to the beautifully appointed common grounds. Swings from which to watch the sunsets were one of our favorite past times. They have a large game room/library where one can play ping-pong and trade a beach read from an impressive little collection of books.

It's located close enough to the downtown village (a 50 peso, 5minute cab ride) but far enough away to avoid the fray when preferred. The large supermarket is just down the street, so convenient for picking up provisions for our kitchen. One night we arranged for one of the local gentlemen who works at the property to grill freshly caught lobsters and accouterments for a lovely dinner out on the common dining veranda. Weather is perfect in November for spending plenty of time outside.

Our only complaint was early morning noise from a remodel/extension they were in the process of completing, but the owners assured us that would not be an issue for our next visit. ;-) We'd definitely stay here again. We left the day before Thanksgiving, so we missed the annual Thanksgiving dinner that the hosts provide guests each year, another nice touch that makes El Milagro a special place to stay.

Peaceful and beautiful space

We were travelling as a couple with a two year old and arrived late in the evening. The friendly staff gave us something to eat and got us settled in. We had a sprawling space colourfully decorated, with two rooms and a kitchen, and outside space to have meals. Inga and Eric were very warm and helpful, even going out of their way to help us find childcare so we could enjoy a dive. The whole place seemed to be built with imagination and love. We truly enjoyed the playroom, the relaxing marina, common cooking/sitting areas and the pool. And the dogs, parrots and iguanas too.

Nice Marina Hotel to stay

This is our 7 th time returning to Isla Mujeres. We love staying at El Milagro marina resort. We come from Cozumel by boat which we dock at the Marina. El Milagro has the best staff . They all remember us by name and treat us like we are family. Each room is brightly decorated with local purchased tiles that are beautiful. Take a look at there website so you can decide which room would be best for you.

There is a very kind woman named Inga who will help you to get a golf cart or book diving, snorkeling or make suggestions on where the local eat. She is very knowledgeable about the island and has very good connections. If you want to book a tour of any kind .....wait and let her book it for you. You will then get the best of what Isla Mujeres has to offer. We WILL be back. Thank you so much ERIC and all the staff at El Milagro. We love coming to stay here and also spending the time while hanging out having a few drinks, meeting new friends that come to El Milagro. Thank you Thank you We Will Be Back

Relaxing and fun retreat

The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Not that you want to spend a lot of time in the rooms. There are several great communal areas and we had a great time sitting outside and talking to fellow visitors. We learned a lot about places to go from those that had been there before or arrived a few days before us. And if other guests aren’t around Inga and Eric are happy to point you in the right direction. Inga made several wonderful recommendations and booked an amazing massage for my friend and I.

There are some good places for food and drink that are a short walk. We found having a golf cart made it easy for us to explore the rest of the island and not have to chase down cabs when we were further south or east. One day Inga arranged for us to get fresh lobster from a local fisherman. The staff even grilled it for us, took our fresh mango and avocado and made some salsa and guacamole as sides. We split the feast with some other guests that we met in the common area.

If you’re there when they have the bbq, take advantage. When we were there the staff cooked up fresh fish, chicken, beans, rice, guacamole, salsa and more. $15 bargain. And a fun time talking to others. And as a bonus, if you’re missing your dogs, the dogs on site as super sweet and you can grab a few cuddles. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Great accommodations at El Milagro Beach Hotel and Marina

We stayed at El Milagro Beach Hotel and Marina for 3-nights and enjoyed everything about our accommodations. We didn’t get to spend a lot of time at the hotel as we had a lot of activities planned but we were extremely comfortable and the staff is outstanding. Not only were the staff wonderful but we were surrounded by wonderful guests staying in the hotel as well. The grounds are beautiful and the room are all comfortable and unique. I would stay here again when visiting Isla! Great bars and restaurants all within walking distance or a short cab drive away.

An Isla Mujeres unique stay!

My friend and I spent one very enjoyable and memorable week at El Milagro! Here is the information I think other travelers would like to know! First of all, I booked directly on their website and it was an easy process. I also joined their Facebook page. Inga, was always very prompt and helpful in responding to any of my questions prior to the trip.

Location- it is a great location. A little removed from the noisy downtown area. If arriving on the ferry, it is about a three dollar cab ride. It is also a short bike ride to the main grocery store. There is a very small convenience store located just a few steps from the rooms that sells chips beer water etc. there is also about five restaurants within a short walking distance. It is recommended that you rent a golf cart for transportation, but taxi cabs are easily accessed from the front Street. At night, the gate to the property it’s closed and we always felt safe. We found the property to be very social, yet relaxing.

Rooms- we rented one of the larger studio units for week. It had everything we needed for our stay. All of the units that I looked at were very clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Having a big 5 gallon water jug and a full-size refrigerator is a big plus! All of the rooms are decorated with lots of authentic Mexican tile touches that make the rooms bright and fun. It’s a very unique, yet comfortable stay.

Staff- we enjoyed all of the staff and found everyone to be helpful! The owner, Eric, is on the property most of the time and interacts with guest regularly throughout the day! Inga was such a great help during our stay. She was a great hostess, and helped us line up a whale shark tour that would pick us up right on the dock and also arranged for a masseuse to come to our room! (Be sure to request Marta soon as you arrive because you will want her to come back!). Inga is very knowledgeable about the area and has lots of tips and suggestions! (and if you take her Tide laundry pods, she will love you forever!) The staff graciously provided an incredible cook out one night for all guests who wanted to participate. It was only $15 per person and we enjoyed fresh grilled red snapper, beans, rice, guacamole, grilled veggies and chicken. Additionally, they helped us purchase fresh lobster from the fisherman next-door and then they prepared for us that same evening! What a treat!

Extras- there are so many extras available for guests on the property. There are bicycles, with locks, for guests borrow during the day. There also kayaks and paddle boards. There is some snorkeling equipment and the snorkeling underneath the dock is excellent! There are beautifully tiled shower rooms with rain shower shower heads. They have a library and theater, and other outdoor comfortable shared space. There are two swings, many hammocks, grills, a small pool, a shared kitchen, books, and a small beach. Our Wi-Fi worked very well in our unit and in all of the shared spaces. Most important, glorious sunsets! It is a very casual atmosphere, simple, quiet, welcoming and enjoyable. I recommend staying here and definitely look forward to returning!

Amazing - Relaxed - Clean

The room had everything I was looking for. The beds slept well - the room was clean. The staff was polite - helpful and fun to be around. Eric the owner was more than happy to share his favorite places to eat and explain the best time to enjoy the spectacular views of the island. Will be returning for a longer stay. El Milagro is a place to meet people from all walks of life.

Perfect Choice! Just Amazing!

After much initial research and indecisiveness between Tulum, Cancun or Isla Mujeres we finally decided on IM for our 5 day vacation. Then it was back to reading mixed reviews (what a headache) on every hotel, apt, condo etc. until I finally just decided to go with my gut and chose El Milagro. I booked online and then contacted Eric (owner) for verification. From initial booking, arrival and up to our departure, it was the most stress free, beautiful experience ever!!! We were a party of 5 mixed in age from a five year old, a couple of mid twenty year old's and my husband and I in our 40's and 50's. We stayed in the amazing Ocean Garden #1 which had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room and a kitchen! It was beautifully decorated in traditional Mexican decor, had a great view, relaxing patio with a table where we had the option to eat our meals or have a drink while watching the spectacular sunset across the marina. We had FREE access to kayaks and life vests (which we had a blast using to go snorkeling for free where others pay to snorkle)!, paddle boats, bicycles, ping pong table, darts, barbeque grill! Bottled water was provided in each room for free, towels were changed and waste baskets were emptied whenever we needed. Coffee was provided as were all kitchen utensils and appliances! We saw other guests staying there, however, everyone just did their own thing so it felt more like we had the entire place to ourselves. We rented a golf cart for our entire stay so we had the opportunity to dine at various restaurants on the island, watched the sunrise at Punta Sur and hung out for a day at Playa Norte. We were walking distance from the local Mexican grocery store which was really cool so we bought pan dulce and fruit for our breakfast and made our own Margaritas and Pina Coladas in our kitchen! When I travel, I prefer an authentic experience as opposed to the loud, all inclusive buffet party hotel. El Milagro for me, was paradise! It was in a great central location, Inga and Eric and all of the employees are wonderful and attentive but they also leave you alone and let you enjoy your vacation! My family and I are planning our next trip to Isla and we will most certainly be staying at El Milagro! Thank you Eric and Inga for the beautiful experience!

My first trip to Isla

My sister and mother had both stayed at El Milagro before but this was my first visit. I totally enjoyed our stay and will be back again. Eric,Inga and rest of staff are wonderful. They have free bikes, kayaks and paddleboards. A snorkling trip was organized and enjoyed that afternoon. Eric has done a great job redoing this property. I'm not one for the very fancy expensive places. This is my kind of place and did not really want to leave.

If you seek a memorial and relaxing place look no further

We stayed 4 nights and found the hotel and marina wonderful . The rooms are clean and spacious, we had a kitchen, large eating/common area, large bedroom and the best outside terrace with seating and tables with a view of the water. We used the bikes to travel around the island, took advantage of the paddle boards and kayaks. The snorkeling around the dock of the marina was quite good, plenty of fish and lots of variety. We felt very welcomed by all who worked there and Eric was great. Have to mention the great sunsets from the beach. Located mid-island and far from the madding crowd but close enough to walk to great restaurants. So happy we got to stay here.

My home away from home - best place on Isla Mujeres to stay.

So many wonderful things to say about this hotel as well as Eric and his spectacular staff. The hotel itself holds the charm of Mexico with the island feel along with being spacious and offers so much to do for activities such as: paddle boarding, kayaking, sunning areas with the most gorgeous views, hammocks through out the property, theater room, plenty of community seating areas to relax, there is also an area with a ping pong table and activities for smaller children. The staff is top notch. Inga helped us coordinate a fishing trip to which we caught a tuna and a large snapper. ( the staff even cooked it for us that night) She is a wealth of information on things to do and places to go. Jaime, Julio, Rosie and the rest of the staff treat you like family and are the best. The guys cooked a fish and rib dinner while we were there for the hotel community which was wonderful.

The hotel is location on the island is extremely convenient to get to anywhere. Will visit here again and as my caption states: This hotel is a Home away from home but this home I get to relax. I would highly recommend this hotel for your vacation you will not be disappointed.

Only place I want to stay on Isla Mujeres

This was our second stay at El Milagro. Eric, Inga, Jaime, and all the staff are warm and accommodating. The rooms all have their own personalities and the laid-back atmosphere suits us perfectly. With swimming right off the dock, use of kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles included, we couldn't ask for anything more.

A truly relaxing stay--highly recommended

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. El Milagro is little off the busy touristy area but still close enough to everything. We stayed in one of the suite rooms that had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink. The room was comfortable and quiet.

The marina is quite picturesque and well maintained. Eric and Inga do a great job of making you feel at home. The staff is very friendly and attentive. During the week, the staff makes a delicious grilled dinner of fish and ribs that we enjoyed. I can only say that the great vibe of the place attracts very fine mix of visitors: families, travelers, boaters and tourists.

There's plenty to do with paddle boards, beach floats, kayaks and bicycles for guests to use. There are some nice restaurants and bars close buy.

Another great stay

We have stayed at numerous places on Isla and have a number we consider special. El Milagro has a special place on that list. This was our fifth visit, second with friends. From the fantastic staff to the great toys (kayaks, paddle boards, etc), beach and proximity to town it can’t be beat. We have already booked again for next year and I’m already counting down the days till then. Highly recommended.

2nd time's a charm

Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We first discovered this gem 2 years ago. The accommodation suited us well with a separate large bedroom, full kitchen and living room and a huge patio (Bayfront #2). The communal space and the homey community vibe is what sets this place apart from the rest and keeps us coming back. Inga, Eric, and the rest of the team are the best hosts ever. Our 5 yr old daughter is able to roam around freely, playing with the multitude of toys and games. The guys cook up a weekly fish and rib dinner that is to die for. Best meal we've found on the island. And you can pair it with your own beer, wine, or home made margaritas out of the communal kitchen. We always meet friendly like-minded guests and enjoy hearing the adventures of the marina boat residents. This place holds a special place in our hearts.

Amazing!!

Eric and his team do an amazing job of hospitality. Fun toys to play with on the water. A welcoming environment. Go anywhere else and you will miss out!!! Most rooms have a kitchen.. And if not, the community kitchen is awesome.

Home Away from Home

We love so Milagro. The location is beautiful, and having kayaks/paddle boards available means we don't have to leave in search of these. The grounds are lovely. The community BBQ is not to be missed.

Piece of Heaven!

This is our second stay at El Milagro, and it was just as amazing as the first. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The rooms are beautifully done in colorful Mexican tile, with so many extra touches that make you feel right at home. The way the place is set up, makes you feel like the part of a small community. The employees are beyond friendly and helpful! They are fun to sit around and visit with, and they always make time for you. Jaime is an amazing character, who makes you feel welcome from the second you arrive. He makes you feel like you are coming home. The grounds are immaculately kept, and the little private beach is quiet and clean. They have free use of paddle boards, kayaks, bicycles, and more for their guests. We have already reserved for next year, and would never want to stay anywhere else!

Terrific Place!

This is a terrific boutique hotel with spacious rooms and the most chill, relaxed and friendly vibe. Some of the rooms have full kitchens, but there is a very large communal kitchen and several grills for the use of the guests and sailors docked at the marina. The location is very convenient - only a 15 minute walk to Chedraui and a 25-minute walk to North Beach. There are several good restaurants nearby and a small, but very well stocked convenience store on the property by the front gate. They also have a number of bikes available for guests' use at no charge.

Perfect place

This is our second time at El Milagro Marina. This time we were there with our two adult sons. Other than our room facing the street and thus being a bit noisy, it was great. The staff brought in an extra bed for our son so they each had a bed. We had a fish dinner cooked by the staff one night. We used bicycles, kayaks, snorkel equipment and paddleboards. Inga and Eric are great hosts.

Great place to stay, amazing, friendly staff

El Milagro is a unique, special place to stay. No frills, nothing fancy, but the staff and guests you meet will make it a trip to remember. We spent 8 nights at El Milagro and from the moment we arrived until we left it felt like you were with friends and family. Eric the owner is always around to answer any questions. Inca will help you with any questions you have on where to exchange money, taxis, restaurants. Juan will get you fish or shrimp from next door and cook it for you or make ceviche and guacamole to have in your room. Rooms are simple and if you have one without a stove or missing something you need, just go to the big communal kitchen to cook your food, find a glass, blender, etc. if you are lucky enough to connect with other guests, arrange a group bbq or pot luck meal. The staff will light a bbq for you to grill on and the communal kitchen has all the dishes and cutlery for your meal (including 2 large fridges if you need more space.). The attached marina gives you a chance to visit and talk with wonderful people who are boating. Hearing their stories of where they have been is a great way to pass the time during the day or evening. Go up to the rooftop with a coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise. A short 15 minute walk takes you to the grocery store or the shops and restaurants in town. There is no shortage of places to eat on Isla Mujeres and spending time at El Milagro Hotel will make your vacation special.
